Digitizing Orthodontic study models with a Flatbed Scanner – Model Analysis

Place models with the teeth facing the glass scanner bed. Make sure that there is a ruler taped to the scanner bed with the ruler facing down towards the glass.
Cover models with a dark paper, and scan black and white
Import the model scan file with a ruler into Dolphin as an image.
You can make measurements in Dolphin by calibrating the model analysis module to the scanned image with the ruler.
To Measure transverse deficiencies:
1. Upper transverse at the mesial buccal cusp at the Upper 6s.
2. Lower arch buccal groove of the lower 6s.
3. Palatal width at the lingual groove of the upper 6s where the molar emerges from the lingual gingiva.
